American Legion 100th Anniversary logo

On Saturday, March 15, 2019 members of American Legion Post 409, Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion and their invited guests gathered together to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the American Legion. It was done with a fantastic potluck dinner. Since it was also the day before St. Patrick’s Day, the meal included corned beef and cabbage.

By all accounts the event was a great success. The food was excellent and included a wonderful cake to commemorate the history of the Legion and to mark the future of the national organization as well as Post 409. Commander David Babbage shared a few thoughts to the assembled group during their time together.

Many thanks to the many volunteers who purchased food and cooked, who got the wonderful custom cake and to everyone who came out to enjoy the day.
