On July 30, 2019, President Trump signed into law the Legion Act. This new law opens up membership in the American Legion to all veterans of the US Armed Forces who served since December 7, 1941 and have an honorable discharge. Previously, membership was reserved to only those veterans who served during specific periods of conflict. Now, nearly 6 million additional vets are eligible to join.

This change also opens up membership to the Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary.

If you were not eligible to join before, please consider joining now. We’d love to have you at Post 409.
