Commander Babbage presented a check for $10,000 to help fund the building of a Fisher House near the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center. The Fisher House will offer low- or no-cost lodging to family members of patients at the Ann Arbor VA so they can be close to their loved ones and give them the support they need as they battle health challenges.

Commander Babbage also presented 2 other checks for $2,500 each. One was specifically earmarked to help homeless veterans in Michigan, many of whom are in Metro Detroit. The other $2,500 was to be dedicated to other Department of Michigan veteran programs.

“I want to thank the membership of Post 409 who work hard to raise funds so we can make donations dedicated to supporting veterans in Michigan,” said Mr. Babbage.
