Program For Positive Aging LogoThis email was received by the post leadership. If anyone is interested in participating, please contact Brianna directly:

I work with the Program for Positive Aging and Geriatric Psychiatry at Michigan Medicine. Our program director, Dr. Helen Kales recently received funding from the Department of Defense for a research study called “WeCareAdvisor: A Web-Based Tool to Improve Quality of Life for Military Veterans with Dementia and their Caregivers”.  The WeCareAdvisor is a web-based tool that was developed by researchers at the University of Michigan and Johns Hopkins University and is meant to help family caregivers manage behavioral symptoms of individuals with dementia.

In this DOD funded study, we are looking to adapt the current WeCareAdvisor tool for use by family caregivers of military Veterans with dementia. In order to do so, we are interested in learning about the unique experiences of caregiving for a military veteran with dementia by holding focus groups for current or former primary caregivers.

I’m reaching out today to see if your organization would be willing to share our information with your members to help us reach out to as many caregivers of veterans with dementia as possible. If your organization is willing, we can provide you with fliers and more information about the study.

Please feel free to contact me via email or at 734-232-0397, or the Project Manager Barb Stanislawski at 734-232-0323.

If there is anyone that you think would be a good fit, please feel free to pass along our contact information or send any references to us.

Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,
Brianna
